John demonstrates a variety of guitars and types of music. Short performances of classical, blues, jazz, and rock music demonstrate how each instrument’s unique sounds and style has impacted our music and culture. John also offers songwriting workshops for classroom-size or smaller groups in which he uses popular American song forms as a template for students to create their own lyrics and music. (Workshops require whiteboard or similar writing surface.)

A 1992 graduate of Duquesne University School of Music in Pittsburgh, PA, John now resides in Athens, Ohio, performing regularly as a soloist and with the Athens-based jazz quintet “The Jazztet”. He also enjoys teaching guitar and jazz improvisation and is currently working with: Ohio University, University of Rio Grande, National Guitar Workshop, Ohio Arts Council, and Artsbridge.
