Michelle tells traditional myths, folktales, legends, and fairytales to grades pre-k to fifth grade. For younger grades she combines props and puppets to enhance their experience of the performance. This year she offers “The Story Sampler” for grades K-2 and “Story Sampler #2” for grades 3-5. These traditional and original tales focus on cultural themes, character perspectives, and problems that drive the plot. The students are guided to make connections to topics in the language arts Common Core Curriculum. Pre-k will be delighted with “Young Bear and his Friends!”

Grades K-6, approx. 45 minutes; microphone required for larger groups. Availability: Limited,- call Michelle for schedule details. Michelle travels from Columbus and requires two units to cover expenses. Block bookings suggested.

Michelle received her B.A. in Theater at Evergreen State College, her M.F.A. in Theater at Ohio University, and her M.S.T. (Education) at SUNY Plattsburgh. She taught drama at Columbus Children’s Theater, Thurber House, Muse Machine in Dayton, OH. Michelle is a storyteller for the Greater Columbus Arts Council; Artists in Schools Program. She works as an actor with Cosi’s Spectrum Players and the Piatt Castles of West Liberty.
